One of our favorite library books of February and bit of March was Play by Linda Olafsdottir. It’s a simple book with colorful yet soft illustrations. I’ve picked it mainly because I like the illustrations and Ivan did because of the cute soft toys the characters have.
The author, Linda Olafsdottir, has definitely caught my attention through this book. Her art works are beautiful and gives me a feeling of comfort. I recommend checking out her blog or web page. Her blog is http://lindaillustration.blogspot.com/
Its simplicity draws children in and help them understand the contents of the book. Ivan and I were able to talk about friends and conflicts while sharing this book together. He has had conflicts during play-dates and this book opened up opportunities to chat with him about them. I was surprised at how much my two year old son was able to remember and communicate about his experiences. Has made me realized that my baby has grown quite a bit.
It was a great book to share with Ivan and a beautiful book that I will remember for a long time.
